Zenith Kathleen Adcock Graves, age 83, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning July 27, 2024, at The Arbors at Springfield Heights. Graveside services will be conducted in Springfield Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. with her grandson, Ethan Slate, officiating. Keith Graves, Levi Fletcher, Ethan Slate, Joe Slate, Gino Minutelli, and Steve Bridges will serve as pallbearers, and Donald Graves and Steve Simmons will serve as honorary pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mrs. Graves was born on August 31, 1940, in Ridgetop, to the late Clifford Phillip and Goldie Marie Morgan Adcock. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church. Mrs. Graves enjoyed spending time with her family above anything else. She was an excellent cook and a great athlete, especially when playing softball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margie Haney and Ruby Bridges.
Mrs. Graves is survived by her husband of 61 years, James E. “Jim” Graves of Springfield, by her son: Keith (Michele) Graves of Springfield, by her daughter: Kathy (Joe) Slate of Springfield, and by her two grandchildren: Ethan Slate of Franklin, KY and Elizabeth (Levi) Fletcher of Springfield.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Caris Hospice and the Arbors at Springfield Heights for the care shown to Mrs. Graves.
