Wilmoth Allene Duffer Gainous, 81, of Adams, passed away on Saturday January 16, 2021 at her home. Graveside services will be conducted Friday January 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Billy Vogle officiating. Pallbearers will be Jason Newberry, Joey Newberry, Kyle Todd, Adam Ellithorpe, Mike Harbert, and David Rainwater. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Mrs. Gainous was born July 11, 1939 in Springfield. She was the oldest of nine children born to Wallace and Florene Rainwater Duffer. She was a homemaker and took care of many children across the years in her home while their parents worked. Mrs. Gainous was a member of Red River Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crafts, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Wayne and Billy Duffer
Mrs. Gainous is survived by her husband: Joe Gainous of Adams, by her daughters: Vickie Gainous Newberry and husband Horace of Cedar Hill, and Amy Jo Gainous Todd of Adams, by her son: Terry Gainous of Adams, by her brothers: Jerry and Glen Duffer both of Springfield, by her sisters: Faye King of Greenbrier, Dottie Lankford, Connie Hutcherson, and Donna Taylor all of Springfield, by her grandchildren: Jason (Julie) Newberry, Joey (Emily) Newberry, Ashley (Adam) Ellithorpe, Kyle Todd, and Katlynn Gainous, and by her great grandchildren: Sarah Mussmann, Abby Allene Newberry, Kennedy Ann Newberry, Eric Lambert, MaKenzie, Ashton, and Levi Ellithorpe.
