William Byrd Parks, 74, of Springfield, passed away on Wednesday August 26, 2020 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday September 5th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Nix officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Eden, Lashawn Lunsford, Chris Woods, Terry Newman, Waylon Owens, Blake Elliott, Brandon Johnson, Jack Groves, and Ashley Eden. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Parks was born April 7, 1946 in Westmoreland to the late Jodie Clarence and Mary Anna Grubbs Parks. He was a retired Steel Fabricator and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Parks loved fishing, mechanic work, and especially going to yard sales with his wife. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Larry, Tommy, and Jimmy Parks.

Mr. Parks is survived by his wife of 55 years: Mary Howell Parks of Springfield, by his daughters and sons-in-law: Annette and Ricky Eden of Springfield, Tina and Danny Odom of Cedar Hill, Tammy and William Elliott of Springfield, Kathy and Timmy Groves of Springfield, brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby and Joyce Parks of Cross Plains, Billy and Doris Parks of Springfield, Tammy Parks of Springfield, Carlene Parks of Springfield, and Debbie Parks of Orlinda, by his sisters and brother-in-law: Betty Jones of Springfield, Shirley and Wayne Stephenson of Springfield, and Mildred Abbott of Springfield, by nine grandchildren and their spouses, and by 20 great grandchildren and one on the way.
