William Molnar Obituary

William John Molnar, 83, of Cunningham, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family on Wednesday March 16, 2022, at Veteran’s Hospital in Nashville. A private family service will be conducted on Monday March 28th in the Middle Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery in Nashville.

Mr. Molnar was born May 26, 1938, in Pittsburg, PA to the late William Peter and Jane Katherine Losier Molnar. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired mechanical engineer. Mr. Molnar enjoyed family vacations and family time, especially with his grandchildren. The highlights of his life were his H.O. Model Train layout, enjoying a good cigar, and enjoying a good beer such as a Miller Highlife, a Rolling Rock, or a Yuengling, but he would never drink a light beer or in his words “a weirdo beer”.

Mr. Molnar is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Thweatt Molnar  of Cunningham, by his son: Billy “Bubba” Molnar of Conway, Arkansas, by his daughters and sons-in-law: Debbie “Rootie” and Marc Simon of Pleasant View, Sherry “Porty” and Aaron Watson of Conway, Arkansas, by his grandchildren: McKenzie (John) Ponzio, Brock Simon, Sydney (Jay) Edwards, Amanda DuPlessis , Sadie Watson, and Cameron Watson, by his great grandchildren: Llewyn Ponzio and Aurora Edwards, and by his siblings: Terry Molnar and Phyllis Molnar Leslie both of Pittsburg, PA.

Mr. Molnar’s family would like to extend their love and appreciation to all the doctors and nurses in the Medical ICU and Palliative Care Unit at the Veteran's Hospital in Nashville for the wonderful care and respect that was given to him during his illness.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. All donations may be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
