William Anderson Leighton

William Anderson “Billy” Leighton, Sr., age 84 of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Morningside of Springfield where he had resided for over 6 years. His remains are to be cremated and a memorial graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 4:00 PM in Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville, KY. 

Mr. Billy was born July 4, 1938 in Springfield to the late Charles Anderson and Mary Agnes Ashabraner Leighton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Wilson Leighton, and his sister, Charlene McCullah. He was a member of Adairville Church of Christ and was retired from Illinois Tool Work in Russellville, KY where he was a maintenance electrician. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. 

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, William Anderson “Andy” and Brooke Leighton, Jr.  of Centerville and Jon and Deborah Leighton of Springfield; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
