Obituary

Timothy Nicholas “Tim” Donkin, 58, of Springfield, passed from this life, at his home, on Wednesday July 21, 2021, exactly one year from the date he was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday July 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Marvin Crouch officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Tim was born September 4, 1962, in Monterey Park, California. He was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1980. Tim was the owner and operator of Donkin Auto Repair and he attended Adams Church of Christ. He loved going to Classic Car shows and was always willing to help anyone in any way he could. His life has evolved around his family and spending time with them. He loved traveling to Gatlinburg and to the beach. Tim always put his wife, Kerrie, as his number one priority. He was so proud of his children, and his life was made complete with his two precious granddaughters. Tim was preceded in death by his father: James “Jim” Donkin and by his brother: Jim Donkin.

Tim leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Kerrie Crabtree Donkin of Springfield, by his daughter and son-in-law: Laura and Zach Bugg of Springfield, by his son: Landon Donkin of Springfield, by his granddaughters: Emmerson Claire and Elleigh Nicholas Bugg both of Springfield, by his mother: Claudette Martin of Springfield, by his brothers: Tom (Kathy) Donkin of Nashville, John (Fay) Donkin of Springfield, and Bill Donkin of Springfield, by his sisters: Cathy (Randy) All of Las Vegas, NV, and Cindi (Charles) Stafford of North Carolina, and by his in-laws: Larry and Elaine Crabtree of Springfield.

Tim, and his family, has been highly honored and greatly blessed by the generosity of all their family and friends during their journey of this past year. To honor Tim’s life, his family wishes to bless other families that will travel this same journey they have had to travel, or to possibly assist someone financially that wishes to become an auto mechanic as Tim did. If you wish to make memorial donations to assist them in honoring Tim’s life, you can make checks payable to Kerrie Donkin for the Tim Donkin Life Memorial tribute fund. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
