Mary Sue Hardaway, 77, of Springfield, passed from this life on Sunday February 23, 2020 at Morningside of Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday February 26th at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Chris Mayes officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Joshua Henderson, Jeremy Henderson, Ken Hardaway, John Hardaway, Kenny Hardaway, and Cody Sanford serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hardaway was born November 7, 1942 in Springfield to the late Ernest and Meakle Wilson Newberry. She was a retired boot seamstress and was a member of Center Point Baptist Church. Mrs. Hardaway loved helping others, mowing her grass, working in her flowers, and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Hardaway, by her son: Joe Green, her daughter: Ann Green, by her step-child: Susan Trembley, and by her siblings: Charles Newberry and Kathleen Hardaway.
Mrs. Hardaway is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Tressia and Mark Henderson of Cedar Hill, by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, by her step-children: Ken Hardaway, Frank Hardaway, and Lynn Hardaway all of Springfield, and by Steve Hardaway of Cedar Hill, by her sister: Faye Parker of Springfield, and by her special friend: John Bourne.
