Shatoya Roshel Woodard of Madison, Tennessee departed her earthly home on November 19, 2024.
Shatoya was born in Springfield, Tennessee on January 11, 1988, to Deanna and Leo Woodard.
Shatoya early education began in Robertson County Education System and was completed in Rutherford County Education System after the family relocated. Shatoya was a 2006 graduate of LaVergne High School, LaVergne, Tennessee. Shatoya furthered her education after High School, by pursuing her interest in Culinary Arts. She was a proud graduate of Culinary Arts School of Indiana. She also later attended Vol State Community College. Shatoya was a well-received and dedicated employee of Skyline Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee at her time of passing.
She professed her hope in Christ at an early age while attending Keysburg Baptist Church (Olmstead, KY) under the leadership of Pastor Leo Utley. Later, she attended Silver Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Smyrna, TN where she was an active member of the Youth Choir, Sunday School, and Bible Study. Shatoya, at the time of her passing, was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Nashville, TN), Joseph W. Walker, III presiding Bishop.
Toy, as she was affectionately called by her family, loved ones, and close friends, enjoyed playing basketball and fast pitch softball in her youth. Those who played basketball with her, referred to her as “Shaq Diesel” because of her aggressive play and dominance on the court. She was one tough cookie in the paint. Toy’s hobbies and pastimes included watching movies, shopping, listening to music and spending time with her family and friends. She was a proud and loving Aunt and was absolutely adored by her nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt TT.
Shatoya was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandfather, Lee Leavell, Paternal Grandmother, Eular C. Johnson, Maternal Uncle, Steve Leavell, and Maternal Cousin, Rosalyn Osborne. She leaves to mourn her death, her mother, Deanna (Rev. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Noon at the Robertson County Funeral Home’s Oakhurst Chapel with the Reverend Randy Taylor officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. until service time.
