Scottie Dale Lane, age 84, of Ft. McCoy, Florida and formerly of Robertson County, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. Scottie was born February 20, 1935 in Robertson County to the late Lercie D. (Jack) and Lovella Jernigan Lane. He worked in the plumbing business most of his adult life. He was of the Baptist faith. He spent his retired life living near the Ocala National Forest and enjoying hunting and fishing.
Scottie is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold, Johnce and L. D. Lane; and his sisters, Leska Durrett and Billie Meadows.
Scottie is survived by his two sons, Rick (Toni) Lane of Springfield, IL., Steven (Loretta) Lane of Ft. McCoy, FL; two daughters, Barbara (Tom) Wilson of Greenbrier, TN and Susan (Bob) Lenard of Mooresville, NC; three brothers, Darden and Frank Lane of FL and Dan Lane of Thailand; four sisters, Nancy Burgess, Peggy Henley, Laura Freeland and Joyce Bishop all of FL; seven grandchildren, Carla Butler, Adrienne Kyzar, Stephanie Brown, Leslie Davy, Michael Lane, Carrie Brooks and Ana Lane; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019 at Countryside Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Countryside Funeral Home with visitation two hours prior. Interment will follow after the service to Ft. McCoy Cemetery with his nephews serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ft. McCoy Cemetery Fund in memory of Scottie. Arrangements are under the care of the Countryside Funeral Home in Anthony, FL.
