Sara Rhea Hargett, age 94 of Springfield, passed from this life on Friday, August 30, 2024, at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cross Plains with Dustin Wilson, Drew Wilson, Peyton Hix, Sam Wilson, Kevin White, and Tim Moulton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of service.
Mrs. Sara was born July 30, 1930, in Nashville to the late W. Horace and Jeanette Mitchell Keith. She was a homemaker, a member of Martins Chapel Methodist Church and was formerly a longtime member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She was also a graduate of the Springfield High School Class of 1948, a member of the FCE Homemakers Club, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, and attending Springfield High School and Austin Peay football games. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lewis Hargett.
Surviving her are her daughters, Brenda Hargett Wilson and husband Randy of Springfield and Linda Hargett Gower and husband Jerry of Pleasant View; by her grandsons, Dustin Wilson and wife Rhonda, Drew Wilson and wife Lindsay, by her step-grandchildren, Jennifer Gower Gaydon and husband Lew, and Joey Gower, by her great grandchildren, Henry Lewis Wilson, Levi Freeman Wilson, and Weslyn Rhea Wilson, and by her step-great grandchildren, Cecelia Gaydon, Elizabeth Gaydon, and Lewie Gaydon.
The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to Martins Chapel Methodist Church. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
