Ruth (Greer) Hoskins

Ruth Alice Greer Hoskins, 81, of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday February 29, 2024, at her home. Graveside services will be conducted Monday March 11th at 1:00 p.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Tim Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Monday at the Robertson County Funeral Home. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 12:15 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Ruth was born September 9, 1942, in Danville, KY to the late John R. and Ola Mae Holcomb Greer. She was a retired restaurant cook, a member of Oakland Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star in Greenbrier. Ruth loved quilting and was always a beautiful soul. She loved to cook, and enjoyed making people happy with the food she prepared. Ruth was a great mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: C.B. Hoskins, by her children: Deborah Ann Bartlett and Alva Harrison Boyd, Jr., by her twin brother: John E. Greer, and by her brother: Russell Greer.

Ruth is survived by her son: Dennis Ray Pursley of Springfield, by her daughter: Sherry Kelly of Ohio, by her brother: James Robert “Jim” Greer of Michigan, by her stepchildren:Clarence B. Hoskins, Jr., Teresa Jane Boyd, Vicy Reba Watson, Glenna Sue Hoskins, and  Tina Kay Hoskins, by her six grandchildren, eight grandchildren, and by her former daughter-in-law: Angela Crain.
