Ronald Kay “Big Ronnie” Marcum, passed away on Sunday December 6, 2020 at North Crest Medical Center. Graveside services will be conducted Friday December 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Reverend Carl Hubbard officiating. Pallbearers will be Ronald Marcum, David Marcum, Dillon Heredia, Tristan Marcum, Anthony Charpentier, and Austin Charpentier. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.
Mr. Marcum was born July 23, 1949 in Monticello, KY to the late Henry Clay and Flora May Winchester Marcum. He served in the U.S. Navy for 16 years. He served two tours in Vietnam and was the recipient of many medals. Mr. Marcum also worked as a dairy farmer, was a member of Wartrace United Methodist Church, the Vietnam Veterans of America, VFW Post 48 and was a former service officer with the post. He loved drawing, playing games on his IPAD, going to classic car shows, and was a mechanic on tractors and cars.
Mr. Marcum is survived by his wife of 48 years: Yvonne Stiles Marcum of Cedar Hill, by his sons: Ronald Clay Marcum of Greenbrier and David Wayne Marcum of Cedar Hill, by his daughters: Christina Ruth Charpentier of Cedar Hill, Dawna May Wilson of Cedar Hill, and Amanda Carole Marcum of Clarksville, by his sisters: Marcella Hudson of Hartford City, IN and Hester Marcum of Monticello, KY, by 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
