Roger Dale Hulsey, age 69 of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January29, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Cemetery with Ronnie Greer, Randall DiDonato, Allen Farmer, Jerry D. Hulsey, Brian Roach, Jr., and Matthew Williams serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 9 AM until the hour of service.
Roger was born April 7, 1952 in Springfield to the late Eddie Lawrence and Annie Ethel Woodard Hulsey. He was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver, having last driven for Southern Growers. He also enjoyed raising a vegetable garden and he loved football, especially the Tennessee Volunteers and the Tennessee Titans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth, Jimmy, and William Hulsey, and sisters, Beatrice Spain, Hilda Auggia, Charlene Farmer, Brenda Jones, Jean Parker, and Ruby DiDonato.
Mr. Hulsey is survived by his wife, Vickey Hulsey of Springfield; son and daughter-in-law, Roger Dale and Toni Hulsey, Jr. of Murfreesboro; daughter, Iris Denise Hulsey of Springfield; brother, Jerry Hulsey of Clarksville; grandchildren, Brian Roach, Jr., Cheyenne Smith, and Shelby Hulsey; and great grandchildren, A’myiah Farmer, Zion Farmer, Jeremiah Smith, and Camilla Urbano.
