Robert Ray Redferin, Sr., age 76 of Greenbrier, died Friday, May 17, 2019 at NHC Healthcare in Hendersonville. Memorial services will be conducted in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joey Jones, Rick Gordon, and Rev. Tee Rawls officiating. Following the service his cremains will be interned in Cross Plains Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Redferin was born August 4, 1942 in Cross Plains to the late Marvin Woodard and Bertha Odell Hunter Redferin. He was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. He was a farmer, and also worked in construction and maintenance. In his later years he worked at WalMart as a door greeter. He loved and was loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Fishing was by far his greatest hobby and pastime.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Gail Bogle Redferin of Greenbrier; sons, Robert Ray Redferin, Jr. and wife, Kris of Alabama and Robert Dewayne Redferin and wife, Cara of Hendersonville; daughters, Holly Grimes and husband, Gary of Alabama, Ginger Vickers and husband, Tracy of Alabama, Tabetha Ellis and husband, Ben of Orlinda, Shelly Hall and husband, Chris, of Greenbrier, and Chasity Matthews of Springfield; brothers, Marvin Woodard Redferin, Jr. of White House, Horace Dean Redferin of Cross Plains, and Roger Glenn Redferin of Cross Plains; sisters, Margaret “Sissy” Stubblefield of Cross Plains and Barbara Ann Nicholson of Pleasant View; 15 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
