Ray Jenkins

Ray Jenkins, age 93 of Springfield, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Dale Swearingen officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Kenneth Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Ricky Jenkins, Jerry Harris, and Rick Tooley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Jenkins, William Jenkins, and Brad Lett. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 until 8 PM and Wednesday from 9 AM until the hour of service.
Mr. Jenkins was born June 16, 1922 in Red Boiling Springs to the late, Floyd Landon and Bessie Vinson Jenkins. He was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church and was a retired farmer and also worked at Ensign Boat Works. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Lucille Dorris Jenkins; a daughter, Karen Harris; and a grandchild, Shawn Knight.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Joy Jenkins of Orlinda, Wayne and Bertha Jenkins of Springfield, William and Mary Ann Jenkins of Hendersonville, Jerry and Vicki Jenkins of Springfield, Robert and Barbara Jenkins of Springfield, and Ricky and Sherry Jenkins of Greenbrier; daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Brad Lett of Springfield and Debbie and Rick Tooley of Adairville, KY; brother, Jack Jenkins of Lafayette, IN; sister, Bonnie Drake of Greenbrier; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great grandchildren.
The family request memorial contributions be made to NorthCrest Hospice or the American Cancer Society. All donations may be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
