Paul Harris Strange, 84, of Adams, passed away on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the home of his son in Adams. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday June 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Adams Cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Bob Brophy, Mike Crecelius, Ronnie Strange, Jerry Strange, Ron Wibking, Adrian Blouvet, and the U.S. Military will serve at graveside. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Strange was born June 25, 1934 in Robertson County to the late John W. and Pauline Watts Strange. He was retired Staff Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, having served in Vietnam and served a total of 20 years before retiring. After retirement, he worked as a property surveyor, and worked at both Ace Hardware and Walker Hardware in Springfield. Mr. Strange was a member of Adams United Methodist Church. He loved fishing and being with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Opal Davis Strange, his children: Bill Strange, Elaine Douglas, and Jackie Brophy, and by several siblings. Mr. Strange is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Ronnie and Gail Strange of Adams, David and Michelle Strange of Florida, his son-in-law: Bob Brophy of Adams, his brother: Ronnie Strange of Cedar Hill, his sister: Theresa Head of Adams, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and one on the way.
