Ollie Ruth (Hart) Head

Ollie Ruth Hart Head, 86, of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at her home. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday February 25th at 3:00 p.m. in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Reverend Jim Woodard officiating. Pallbearers will be Lewis Head, Thomas Head, Jack Head, Drew Hix, Mason Head, Mitchell McCormick, Barrett Brown, and David Turner. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Mrs. Head was born April 30, 1934 in Springfield to the late Thomas Henry and Dora Jackson Hart. She was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1952. Mrs. Head was a retired office manager with Hail & Cotton in Springfield, a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of the Red Hats Ladies Society, and a member of NorthCrest Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, sewing, bird watching, cooking, and especially spending time with all of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Billy Powell Head, by her brother: Thomas Melvin Hart, and by her sister: Rebecca McCormick. Mrs. Head is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Thomas Raymond and Sarah Head of Adams, Larry Powell and Kim Head of Clarksville, William Melvin and Julie Head of Springfield, by her daughter and son-in-law: Linda Ruth and Mark Hix of Springfield, by 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, by her brothers-in-law: Joe W. Head of Adams and Mitchell McCormick of Shelbyville, and by many nieces and nephews.
