Melaine Dawn Appleton

Melaine Dawn Appleton, 55, of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday July 27, 2021, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Friday July 30th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery with Kris Appleton, Randy Appleton, Justin Guadina, Wallace Moulton, Michael Elmore, and Dustin Appleton serving as pallbearers. Brandy Appleton Guadina will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Melaine was born August 3, 1965, in Springfield to the late Granville Lee and Alberta Braswell Appleton. She was a graduate of Springfield High School Class of 1983 and was the Valedictorian of her class from Branell College. Melaine worked in management and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed collecting movies and football cards, listening to music, and was a big Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Vol’s fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Jackie Appleton, by her sisters: Judy Appleton, Sue Frye, and Doris Harper, and by her Yorkie: Sassy. Melaine is survived by her son: Kristopher (Courtney Dusek) Appleton of Springfield, by her brother: Randy (Lisa) Appleton of Springfield, and by her sister: Paulette Moulton.
