Matthew Ward Obituary

Matthew Paul Ward, 11, of Springfield TN, walked home with Jesus, on October 1, 2020 at Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital. A Celebration of Life is pending at Cornerstone Church Nashville.

Matthew was born December 11, 2008 in Jacksonville, FL. He was always full of joy, never-ending giggles, huge smiles, and twinkling eyes. His family meant everything to him, and they were always by his side. He delighted in country music, especially Tim McGraw. Every morning, upon waking at 5:30am, Alexa would play ”Feel Like a Rockstar”, to start his day. Every night before bed, he would sing along to his music, while mommy said, “Sing to me, Sing to mama”.

Matthew loved Sesame Street, Chicka, Nascar driver interviews, and long stroller walks around the family’s couch, for hours each day by daddy and mommy. He was the most precious of boys, we will so miss the “king of our castle”. Matthew is preceded in death by his Aunt Malisa Munn, of Flint, MI and Nana Jan and Papa Bobby Tyer, as well as great-grandparents.

Matthew is survived by his devoted parents, Todd and Lisa Ward, of Springfield, by his brothers: Noah Ward, Jacob Ward, and Tanner Ward, by his sisters: Alisa Ward, Gabrielle Ward, Brooke Ward, and Kayla Ward, by his great-grandma, June Fuller, of DeWitt MI, his grandparents: Wanda Weber of New Port Richey, FL, Leonard Munn of Flint, MI, and Harold and Linda Ward of DeWitt, MI, by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
