Mary Ellen (Morris) Pitt

Mary Ellen Morris Pitt, 91, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday June 27, 2021, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. A private family graveside service will be conducted Friday July 2nd in the Bethlehem Cemetery with her son, Brother Chuck Pitt, officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers. There will be no public visitation.

Mrs. Pitt was born December 29, 1929, in Nashville to the late Sim and Madge Burchett Morris. She was retired from the lunch counter at Springfield Drugs and was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ. Mrs. Pitt enjoyed reading, watching TV, cooking, listening to country music, and Square Dancing. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Joanne Harris and Margaret Marks, and by her grandson: Michael Pitt.

Mrs. Pitt is survived by her daughter: Debbie Wooden of Springfield, by her sons: Randy Pitt of Greenbrier, Chuck Pitt of Goodlettsville, Phillip Pitt of Franklin, KY, and Jeff Pitt of Springfield, and by her 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
