Marvin Ray Holt, Sr., 92, of Springfield, passed from this life on Friday December 18, 2020 at NHC Health Care in Springfield. Memorial services will be conducted Tuesday December 22nd at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Holt was born September 12, 1928 in Springfield to the late Bailey Martin and Nellie Stack Holt. He was a retired truck driver, and then went on to drive a school bus for the Robertson County School System for 10 years. Mr. Holt was a charter member of South Haven Baptist Church in Springfield. He enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles, fishing, hunting, watching football, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Tonya Holt.
Mr. Holt is survived by his wife of 73 years: Rosie Dorris Holt of Springfield, by his sons and daughters-in-law: Marvin R. and Cheryl Holt, Jr., of Springfield, Randy and Lucy Holt of Springfield, by his grandchildren: Angela Hancock, Andrea Young, Lesley Haun, Amy Holt, Jessica Holt, Stephanie Gamble, and Josh Smith, by his nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
