Martha Lynn Matthews

Martha Lynn Grubbs Matthews, 80, of Greenbrier, passed away on Thursday August 15, 2019 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday August 19th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Oden officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery with Derek Matthews, Joe Burnett, Ryan Peck, Brian Matthews, Hunter Matthews, and Brandon Maclin serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Matthews was born October 15, 1938 in Robertson County to the late Harold R. and Ruby Shannon Grubbs. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Matthews loved fishing and bird watching. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Cecil Larry “Pa” Matthews, by her son: Randy Matthews, and by her brothers: Maxie and Joe Eldon Grubbs.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda and Mike Peck of Greenbrier, by her son and daughters-in-law: Larry and Patsy Matthews of White House, Kathy Matthews of Goodlettsville, by her brother and sister-in-law: Ronnie and Mildred Grubbs of Smyrna, by 9 grandchildren, by 19 great grandchildren, and by the love of her life, her poodle, Rusty Matthews.
