Marcia (Russell) Nelson

Marcia Russell Nelson, 91, of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday October 5, 2023, at her home. A time of visitation with the family will be held on Thursday October 12th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Ms. Marcia was born February 17, 1932, in Springfield, MA, to the late Herbert W. and Josephine Dean Russell. She was a graduate of Classical High School in Springfield, MA. She was a retired secretary with the Friendly Ice Cream company in Springfield, MA. Ms. Marcia was a volunteer with the NorthCrest Auxiliary for over 25 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: John A. “Jack” Nelson.

Ms. Marcia is survived by her son: James A. “Jim” Nelson of Springfield, by her daughter and son-in-law: Lynne Marie and Joseph Mazzie of Springfield, MA, and by her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
