Lewis Edgar “Louie” Pendleton, 79, of Springfield, passed away on Monday June 7, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday June 9th at 3:00 p.m. in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be Tom Cooper, Michael Norman, Tim Norman, Drew Cobb, Paul Beshear, and Jeff Poole. The family will receive friends at the graveside service.
Louie was born May 1, 1942, in Springfield, to the late Lewis Hilliard and Mattie Lou Bennett Pendleton. He was a member of Woodland Street United Methodist Church. Louie had worked at one time for Sunbeam Bread Company but spent most of his working years buying and selling scrap metal and iron. He loved woodworking and made beautiful furniture. Louie was always willing to help others and spent many hours driving his friends to places they needed and wanted to go. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Delores Poole and by his nephew: Tony Poole.
Louie is survived by his sisters: Margaret Norman and Jean Cooper both of Springfield, by his brother-in-law: Henry Poole, by 2 nieces and 7 nephews, and by his special friends: Charlie Gutierrez, Patricia Walker, and Michelle Vazquez.
The family request memorial contributions be made to Woodland Street United Methodist Church or to North Springfield Baptist Church. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
