Larry Franklin Hackney, 86, of Greenbrier, passed away on Friday January 31, 2020 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday February 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor David Blaser officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayes Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Hackney was born November 17, 1933 in Greenbrier to the late William Cecil and Goldie Jewel Hackney. He was a retired truck driver from Yellow Freight and was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of U.S. Army, and was stationed in Germany during his service. Mr. Hackney enjoyed fishing and bird hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Ann Kee Hackney, and by his daughter: Rebecca Hackney. Mr. Hackney is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Walter Clay and Vicki Hackney of Greenbrier, by his grandchildren: Jennie Blue, Brittany Cook and husband Brian, Jonathon Barrett and wife Heather, and by 4 great grandchildren.
