Joseph Kenneth Hinkle, 84, of Springfield, died Saturday February 15, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday February 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Carroll and Reverend Joshua Culver officiating. Internment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery with Billy Sprouse, Billy Joe Munday, Jr., Mark Garrett, Jed Hampton, Dan Huddleston, and Luke Hinkle as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Hinkle was born December 1, 1935 in Nashville. He was retired from both sales of golf course supplies, and as a PGA Golf Pro. Mr. Hinkle was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, where he served as a former deacon. He loved golf, fishing, woodworking, and for many years he served as a TSSAA Basketball Referee. He never met a stranger and was very passionate about feeding those that were less fortunate. He was preceded in death by his parents: Fredrick and Josephine Bedwell Hinkle, and by his brother: Karl Allen.
Mr. Hinkle is survived by his wife of 66 years: Hazel Mundy Hinkle of Springfield, his son and daughter-n-law: Eric and Rita Hinkle of Springfield, his daughter and son-in-law: Vickie and David Lynch of Evansville, IN, his sister: Loretta Jones of Hendersonville, his grandchildren: Luke (Diona) Hinkle, Leslie (Jed) Hampton, and Taylor (Jeremiah) O’Bannon, and by his great grandchildren: Dayton, Morgan, and Lyla.
