Johnnie Deneen Guye, 61, of Cedar Hill, passed away on Tuesday July 9, 2019 at his home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 20th at 1:00 p.m. at the Dickson Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 500 Hwy 70 E, with his father, Pastor Dean Guye officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Johnnie was born November 29, 1957 in Galatia, IL. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1975 and then went on to receive a vocational degree from Nashville Auto Diesel College. He was employed for several years as a heavy equipment mechanic with Thompson Machinery. Johnnie was of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith. He loved cooking, fishing, and going to Classic Car Cruise-In’s. He was preceded in death by his mother: Maryema Droit Guye, by his grandparents: Ralph and Eunial Guye, Alfred and Elizabeth Droit, and by his infant brother: Charles Dean Guye.
Johnnie is survived by his wife: Kathy Highsmith Guye of Cedar Hill, his daughters: Elizabeth Guye of Lavergne, Kayla Mayeur and husband Lucas of Chattanooga, his grandson: Carson Tenpenny of Lavergne, his father and step-mother: Reverend Dean and Joyce Guye of Dickson, his sister: Darlene Chockley of Winchester, and by his step-brother: Jeff Patterson and wife Tammy of Centerville
