John Ewing Jackson, Sr., 63, of Greenbrier, passed away on Monday December 7, 2020 at North Crest Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday December 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend David Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Cleveland Jackson, Tyler Fugate, Timothy Fugate, Gabriel Fugate, Randy Young, Tom Young, Paul Wayne Young, and Stephen Howerton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson was born May 4, 1957 in Springfield to the late Francis Sory and Nannie Florene Hulsey Jackson. He was a retired truck driver and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Springfield. Mr. Jackson was a race car driver, enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and anything that allowed him to be outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: C.R. Bradley, Harvey Jackson, Gene Jackson, Gerald Jackson, Betty Young, and Patricia Britt.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife Rebecca Carter Jackson of Greenbrier, by his son and daughter-in-law: John Ewing and Olivia Jackson, Jr., of Greenbrier, by his daughter and son-in-law: Brandy and Kenneth Higdon of Cedar Hill, Michelle Keller of St. Petersburg, FL, by his sister and brother-in-law: Margie and Lamar Pruitt of Ashland City, and by his grandchildren: Kenneth Higdon, Jr., Angel Nicole Jackson, Mary Elizabeth Jackson, and Maggie Mae Jackson.
