John Hazey Price, 84, of Greenbrier, passed away on Monday June 21, 2021, at Stoneridge Health Care in Ridgetop. Funeral services will be conducted Monday June 28th at 3:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Marvin Crouch officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Brad Briley, Anthony Garrison, Jon Allen Moore, Chase Hodges, Aaron Price, and Joel Lawson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Price was born January 31, 1937, in Clay County to the late Benton and Lucy Crawford Price. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Price was a retired machine operator with MacMillan Bloedel and was a member of the Steelworkers Union Local 4802. He attended Hillcrest Church of Christ. Mr. Price loved music, especially playing his guitar. He enjoyed family gatherings and spending time in music and fellowship with each other. One of his favorite pastimes was going to Rivergate Mall to “people watch”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by the love of his life, his wife, Emma Josephine McCreary Price, by his daughter: Donna Jo Hodges, and by his brothers: Hosey, Hobert, Hovey, and Bill Price. Mr. Price is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Treva and Wade Garrison of Cedar Hill, by his sons and daughter-in-law: Wayne and Holly Price of Greenbrier, Greg Hodges of Greenbrier, sister-in-law Thelma "Polly" Price, and by his 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
