John Davis Clinard

John Davis Clinard, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday May 25, 2024, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Pensacola, FL. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday June 1st at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Diane Coppock officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Austin Clinard, Dalton Clinard, Steve Green, Richie Howden, Tommy Kirkpatrick, Greg Porter, Wayne Ezell, and Kevin Nixon serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. 

John was born December 15, 1944, in Springfield, to the late William Wallace and Bonnie Pauline Bush Clinard. He was a retired sales representative with Tire Center Incorporated and was of the Baptist faith. In his younger years, he coached Babe Ruth baseball and so many still called him “Coach”. John loved bowling, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He loved doing yard work and making his lawn look the best he could. Being with his family was the highlight of John’s day and he always looked forward to spending time together.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Peggy, who died on May 3, 2024, and by his siblings: Wallace Clinard, Mark Clinard, and Paulette Clinard. John is survived by his sons: Tim Clinard of Hendersonville, David (Jennifer) Clinard of Castalian Springs, and Steve (Nikki West) Clinard of Portland, by his grandchildren: Paige Clinard, Austin Clinard, Kaylee Clinard, Amber Clinard, and Dalton Clinard, by his brothers: Buddy Clinard of Cross Plains, Phillip (Rose) Clinard of Cross Plains, and Paul (Rita) Clinard of Cross Plains, by his sister: Bonnie Smith of Cross Plains, and by his best friend: Mike Schmidt of White House. Robertson County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
