Joseph Matthew “Joe” Green, 74 and Sherry Denise Raymer Green, 62, both of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday September 29, 2020 at their home. Joint funeral services will be conducted Wednesday October 7th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Dr. Frank Gagliano officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenbrier Cemetery with Joshua Green, James Bryant Green, Jonathan Rose, Alan Green, Darryl Freeman, and Michael Whitaker serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home.
Joe was born August 15, 1946 in Springfield to the late Willie Green, Sr. and Estelle Burnette Head. He was retired from the maintenance department of Electrolux and was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. Joe enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising rabbits. He was preceded in death by his son: Kevin Green, by his siblings: Sherry Binkley, Bobby, Linda, and Willie Green, Jr, and by his step-daughter: Stacey Maynard. His son, Scotty Green, passed away following his death. Joe is survived by his sons: Joshua Matthew (Kayla) Green of Portland and James Bryant Green of Greenbrier, by his sister: Lila (Michael) Sumner of Knoxville, by his nephews: Alan Green and wife Linda of Ashland City, Eric Green; niece, Susan Green and by 7 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
Sherry was born May 16, 1958 in Springfield to the late James Oliver and Jeanette Pope Raymer. She was retired from the assembly department of Electrolux and was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. Sherry was preceded in death by her daughter: Stacey Maynard, and by her sister: Carolyn Raymer. She is survived by her brother: Randy (Nancy) Raymer of Cedar Hill, by her grandsons: Jonathan (Crystal Ann) Rose and Rickey Michael Rose, by her nephews: Derrick and Joshua Raymer, and by 1 great grandchild
