Joe W. Head

Joe W. Head, 86, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday November 20, 2021, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday November 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery with Mike Treen officiating. Pallbearers will be Nick Proctor, Adam Reynolds, Louis Howell, Charles Parker, Bob Smith, and Ronnie Proctor. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Mr. Head was born May 19, 1935, in Springfield to the late Raymond and Lorene Powell Head. He was retired from Electrolux, was a longtime farmer, was a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church and the Coopertown Ruritan Club. Mr. Head enjoyed fishing, collecting John Deere memorabilia, watching Atlanta Braves baseball, and smoking his cigar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives: Betty Jean Wooden Head and Margie Redferrin Head, and by his siblings: Robert, Billy, Charles, and Sara Belle Head.

Mr. Head is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Melissa and Charles Parker of Milan, Karen and Bob Smith of Ashland City, and Anne and Ronnie Proctor of Springfield, by his stepchildren: Vicky Cagle and husband Ronnie, and Ricky Conn, and by his 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and his fourth great grandchild will soon make his arrival in December.
