James “Jim” Weller, 87, of Greenbrier, passed away on Monday January 13, 2025, at his home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville with Father Thomas Kalam as Celebrant. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Cedar Hill with Jonathan Weller, Jason Weller, Walter Hackney, Buddy Dowlen, Jim Weller, and Scott Roberts serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Dowlen and his great nephew: Johnny Hackney. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home. There will be no visitation on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass.
Jim was born October 1, 1937, in Woodbridge, NJ, to the late Stanley and Sophia Schmidt Weller. He was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, where he was a member of the marching band. He went on to receive his pharmacist degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and was the owner and operator of Weller’s Pharmacy in Sayreville, NJ for many years. Jim was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a veteran of the U.S. Naval Air division. He loved gardening and was a Master Gardner, and he loved hunting and growing tomatoes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Marjorie Zambor.
Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Paula Sanders Weller of Greenbrier, by his son and daughter-in-law: James Thomas and Karen Weller of Maryland, by his daughter and son-in-law: Beth Ann and Henry Cordes of Hampton, NJ, by his grandchildren: Jonathan Weller, Jason Weller, Sierra Cordes, Henry Cordes, and Kaitlyn (Erich) Stiefel, by his great grandchild: Isabelle Stiefel, and by his bonus grandchildren: Madie Butler and Jesse Colonell.
