Jean Ellis Obituary

Jean Henderson Ellis, age 85 of Cedar Hill, passed from this life on Saturday morning, April 30, 2022 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County  Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Cemetery with Stephen Ayres, Scott Ayres, Michael Ellis, Bradley Shelton, Jason Ison, and Allen Hopcraft serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 until 8 PM and Tuesday from 11 AM until the hour of service.

Mrs. Jean was born January 15, 1937 in Cedar Hill to the late Madell and Maudie Spicer Henderson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George Earl Ellis, and her brother, James Conry Henderson.

Mrs. Ellis was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church and was retired from Ellis Cleaning Service. She loved flowers, family, and her church. She was also an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Susan Ellis of Adams and Michael Ellis of Cedar Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jimmy Ayres of Cedar Hill; sister, Helen Bunch of Springfield; grandchildren, Stephen (Jennifer) Ayres, Cherish (Jason) Ison, Scott (Brittney) Ayres, Michael (Julia) Ellis, Bradley (Tequishia) Shelton, Ashley Sautter, Bethany Ellis, and Tabitha Ellis; and great grandchildren, Tommy Ison, Cody Ison, Grayson Ayres, Elsye Ayres, Chelsea Fisher, Abel Clements, Knox Ayres, Clayton Shelton, Addlyn Shelton, Brantley Shelton, Neyland Shelton, Chris Sautter, Jaxson Riggins, Rett Ayres, Melissa Riggins, and Logan Hopcraft.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to Alive Hospice. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
