James Gray Richards, Jr., 96, of Adairville, KY, passed away on Monday January 16, 2023, at Creekwood Nursing Center in Russellville, KY. Graveside services will be conducted Friday January 20th at 1:00 p.m. in the Sulphur Spring Cemetery in Franklin, KY with Brother Marvin Crouch and Brother Flint Redwine officiating. Pallbearers will be Dickie Richards, Donald Richards, Jerry Richards, Ben Richards, Steve Dorris, and James Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Richards, Tom Richards, Lewis Richards, Linda Dorris, Judy Jackson, Lisa Richards, and Elizabeth Smith. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service on Friday.
Mr. Richards was born December 10, 1926, in Franklin, KY to the late James Penny and Chester Freas Richards. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a retired welder from Unarco, and was a member of the Adairville Church of Christ. Mr. Richards enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends, and everyone that knew him knows how much he loved to laugh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Edna Sjlournd Richards, and by his siblings: Robert Earl and Eugene Richards.
Mr. Richards is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Dickie Lee and Tammy Richards of Adairville, KY, by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom and Jean Richards of Adairville, KY, Jesse Richards of Gold City, KY, Donald and Julia Richards of Springfield, Lewis Richards of Myrtle Beach, and Jerry and Linda Richards of Lizalla, GA, by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Linda Joyce and Steve Dorris of Franklin, KY and Judy Kay and James Jackson of Springfield, by his grandchildren: Ben Richards and Susan Lowry, by his step grandchildren: Brandi Addison, William Hallas, and Kristi Addison, by his 6 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
