Jackie B. (Benton) Sneed

Jackie B. Sneed, age 80 of Springfield, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Lance Wamble officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cross Plains with Justin Johnson, Adam Schreiber, Tyler Sneed, Conner Sneed, Jeremiah Johnson, Tommy Logsdon, Josh Groves, and Brent Dorris serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4 until 8 PM and Saturday from 12 noon until the hour of service.

Mrs. Jackie was born January 26, 1941 in Springfield to the late David McCoy and Alma Armstrong Benton. She was a homemaker and also ran a mail route for 35 years. She was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church and loved to take care of people and was a regular visitor to the nursing homes. She loved all her family, giving special attention to the grandchildren, and entertaining, having big meals in her home. She was well known for being an excellent cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Bobby Dean Sneed, who died in November of 2020, her half-sister, Evelyn Pitt, and her son-in-law, Bill Johnson.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy Sneed and Jackie Adams of Springfield, Bobby “Toodle” and Melissa Sneed of Springfield, and David Lynn and Barbara Sneed of Springfield; daughters, Vickie Johnson of Springfield and Debbie Boyd of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild with one on the way.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to Orlinda Baptist Church. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
