Obituary

On Friday, May 7, 2021, Jackie Mae Cobb, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 86. Her family and friends were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of her kindness, compassion, and care will live on through those who knew her.

Visitation will be held at the Robertson County Funeral Home on Friday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Mt. Sharon Cemetery with Reverend Diane Coppock officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Cobb, Harold Axley, Terry Ellis, Michael Baldwin, Robert Clinard, and Tommy Clinard.

Jackie was born on September 23, 1934, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Jack and Dollie Mae (Dillard) Jones. She graduated from Coopertown High School in 1952.

She married Charles Martin Cobb in August of 1955, and the two lived briefly in South Carolina and Illinois before settling in Springfield, Tennessee, to raise two children, Bettye Ann and Bryant Andrew. For many years, she brought optimism, generosity, and dedicated service to her work at Wal-Mart and at church, where she cherished the friendship of her co-workers and church family. She was a member of Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and also attended Palestine United Methodist Church with her sister Linda, and where her mother was a member for many years.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, as well as her parents, and brother Jady Lee Jones. She is survived by siblings Martha Nell Clinard of Cedar Hill, Bobby Wayne and Margaret Jones of Lebanon, Wallace Edward Jones of Watertown, Mary Ellen Gibbs of California, and Linda Faye Clinard, as well as her lifelong friend Aline Crutcher, her two children, and two grandchildren, Jessica Axley and Emily Cobb.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Palestine United Methodist Church or Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church are appreciated.
