J Adrian Marshall Obituary

J. Adrian Marshall, age 68, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at NHC in Springfield, Tennessee.

Adrian was born on February 3, 1954 in Clarksville, Tennessee, was a talented performer and started a career in broadcasting at WDBL in Springfield at a young age.   Adrian graduated from Springfield High School in 1971 where he enjoyed participating in public speaking and plays, thus discovering his passion for the performing arts.  He was also extremely passionate about music, song writing, and guitar.  His broadcasting career allowed him to work with WMAK, WSM, WDBL radio, and the Tennessee Radio News Network.   He performed in several dramatic productions with local and other groups including those in Nashville and Murfreesboro.  In later years he volunteered his time playing guitar and singing for the Veterans Administration Hospital patients. He was a Master Mason and a Scottish Rite Freemason in the 32nd Degree.

Adrian is survived by his stepfather, Robert D. Alley (Betty), and his three siblings, Cheryl Alley Moon (Danny), James T. Marshall, III (Anita), and Andrea Alley Fields (Mark).  He is preceded in death by his mother, Bettye Rawls Marshall Alley, his father, James Thomas Marshall, II, and his grandparents O.G and Dixie Rawls, James Thomas and Elizabeth Marshall, Elgia and Jessie Lee Alley.

The family extends a special appreciation to the caregivers and staff at NHC whom Adrian came to know and cared deeply for.
