Inez Doss Turns, 90, of Springfield, passed from this life on Monday February 10, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday February 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist with Reverend Jim Woodard officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Dorris, Brent Dorris, Greg White, Eric Pulley, Jason Wilkins, John Parkhurst, Justin Johnson, Daniel Calvert, and David Wix. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 noon until service time at Hopewell Baptist Church.
Mrs. Turns was born January 21, 1930 in Robertson County to the late Ed and Maude Hulsey Doss. She graduated from Orlinda High School and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Mrs. Turns was a retired farmer, having raised her own tobacco crop for many years. She loved flowers and was a member of the IRIS Association in Lebanon. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great granddaughters.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ewell Turns, and by her siblings: Raymond Doss, Tom Doss, and Betty Wilkins. Mrs. Turns is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Roger and Teressa Turns of Springfield, by her grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Barry and Jennifer Turns of Springfield, by her great granddaughters: Colbie and Chandler Turns of Springfield, by her brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Wilburn Wilkins, Jean Doss, and Shelia Doss all of Springfield.
