Gwen Hudgens Ankenbauer, age 74 of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 after a tough fight with Parkinsons and cancer. She was firm in her faith but could not withstand her health issues.

She traveled primarily with Barbara Mandrell and Randy Travis and from there with Bill and Gloria Gaither’s gospel group.
Gwen was preceded in death by her former husband, Royce and her son, Zane Ankenbauer. Also her parents, Marjorie Feltner and Russell Hudgens preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Rob Hudgens and sister, Janie Hudgens.
Her remains are to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express special thanks to the kind folks at Holiday House for making the last couple of years an easier road for her.
