Gladys Elizabeth Gibson, 87, of Hermitage, passed away on Friday January 3, 2020 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday January 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Mark Patterson, Joey Patterson, Harvey Richardson, Johnny Williams, Danny Morris, Jerry Head, and Tommy Head serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gibson was born February 21, 1932 in Springfield to the late Luster Melvin and Katie Reynolds Ledbetter. She was a retired Chef and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Gibson enjoyed cooking, shopping, dancing, fishing, and watching wrestling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Jerry Lee Head.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by her husband: Arnold Gibson, Jr., of Hermitage, by her son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth Melvin “Kenny” and Willie Head of Cedar Hill, by her daughters: Brenda Kay Head of Madison and Rita Fay Williams of Nashville, by her step-children: William Gibson of Bristol, VA and Lisa Gibson of Johnson City, by her sister: Nancy Walls of Hermitage, and by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
