Frank “Gene” Davenport, 78, of Springfield, passed away on Monday May 4, 2020 at his home. A private family graveside service will be conducted Saturday May 9th in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison. Pallbearers will be Andrew Hunter, Mark Bryan, Terry Hunter, Donnie Bryan, and Jered Goodfred. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackson Goodfred, Hunter Goodfred, and Finnley Hunter.
Mr. Davenport was born December 13, 1941 in Nashville. He was retired from Tool & Dye and Real Estate Investment. Mr. Davenport loved collecting junk and cans for recycling, renovating houses, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father: Jesse Franklin Davenport, by his mother and stepfather: Bertha Mae Dalton Rogers and William Rogers, by his brother: Junior Davenport, and by his sisters: Brenda Roberts, Evelyn Mason, and Frances Travis.
Mr. Davenport is survived by his wife of 59 years: Sue Beliles Davenport of Springfield, by his son: Kenneth Davenport of Madison, by his daughters and sons-in-law: Deborah and Terry Hunter of Springfield, Donna and Donnie Bryan of Mt. Juliet, grandchildren: Cassie Goodfred and husband Jered, Andrew Hunter and wife Andrea, and Mark Bryan, his great grandchildren: Jackson and Hunter Goodfred, and Finnley Hunter, and special nieces, Darlene Ayres and Anita Clark.
