Frances Hargis Long, 84, of Portland, passed from this life on Monday May 5, 2025, at The Waters of Springfield. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Thursday May 8th at the Robertson County Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Ms. Frances was born September 23, 1940, in Nashville, to the late Ira John and Mary Polk Hargis. She was a retired cafeteria worker at East Robertson Elementary School and was of the Church of Christ faith. Ms. Frances enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, and mowing her yard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ray Dean Long, and by her son: Ray Dean Long, Jr.
Ms. Frances is survived by her children: Judy Suter of Greenbrier, Barbara (David) Sneed of Springfield, Jason (Kim) Long of Springfield, and Kelly Groves of Orlinda, by her grandchildren: Emily Suter, Megan Suter, Michelle Suter, Tyler Sneed, Taylor Logsdon, Molly Long, Seth Long, and Jacob Long, by her five great grandchildren, and by her brother: Tommy Hargis.
