Frances (Brown) Jones

Frances Brown Jones, 72, of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Skyline Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday April 26th at 3:00 p.m. at Springfield First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ed Coy, Reverend Jerry Wallace, and Reverend Dr. Jason Wilkerson officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon until service time at Springfield First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Jones was born May 26, 1946 in Jellico, TN to the late Robert L. and Melba Hill Brown. She was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College where she was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. Mrs. Jones served as treasurer for SECURE in Springfield. She retired as a Special Education teacher at Springfield High School. Mrs. Jones was a member of Springfield First United Methodist Church for many years, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She later moved her membership to Woodland Street United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and being involved in church activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Reverend Joel T. Jones, by her brother: David Brown, and by her grandson: Gabriel Jones.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Craig and Shawn Jones of Springfield, her sisters and brother-in-law: Roberta Bailey, Mary Fay and Woody Masingill all of Conway, Arkansas, and by her grandchildren: Bryce, Anna, Eliza, and Carson Jones.
