Mrs. Empson was born on May 3, 1932, on the family farm in Greenbrier, TN. She attended Crossroads School and graduated from Greenbrier High School Class of 1949.  She retired from the Robertson County Board of Education Central Office after 27 years of service.  She joined Springfield Baptist Church on October 24,1954 and was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and Senior Adult Choir for many years.  She also served as a Sunday morning Greeter and member of the Bread Ministry.  Music was a very important part of her life, and she began at a very young age singing in churches and on the local radio station gospel hour with the Bracey and Cook family.  She enjoyed playing the piano and participating in school assemblies. She had a passion for caring, training and loving all family pets throughout her lifetime. She treasured time playing bridge with her Bridge Club friends for over forty years, and Tuesday Bridge at the Robertson County Senior Citizens Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Orian Bracey and Aline Cook Bracey, sister, Dorothy Bracey Poole, brother, Paul Bracey, Sr., sister-in-law, Pauline Pratt Bracey, and dearly loved nephew Paul (Dickie) Bracey, Jr.

She is survived by her son, Lynn Powell Empson (Cathy), daughter, Beverly Bracey Empson Corbin (Billy), grandchildren, Lauren Empson Head (Clint), Clint William Corbin (Ashley), Nicholas Powell Empson (Lisa), and Leah Bracey Corbin Palmore (Wesley), and nine great grandchildren, Sophie Claire Head, Dane William Corbin, Griffin Lane Head, Grady Peyton Corbin, Corbin James Palmore, Owen Carter Head, Natalie Bray Palmore, Blake Landon Revlett and Cole Bryson Revlett.  She is also survived by special nieces Paulette Bracey Duffer and Judy Bracey Parham.
