Evelyn Marie (Carney) Parker

Evelyn Marie Carney Parker, age 79 of Hendersonville, passed from this life on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at American House in Hendersonville. Her wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Ms. Parker was born April 24, 1944 in Springfield to the late Vernon and Elizabeth McIntosh Carney. She was of the Baptist faith, a member of the Springfield High School graduating Class of 1962, and worked for many years as an office employee of several large companies with a focus on her accounting skills. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and embroidering. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Peggy Dulley, Sue Murphy, and Ann Woodard.

Surviving her are her sons, Wayne (Kelly) Smithson of Springfield and Micky (Jenny) Cobb of White House; granddaughter, Nicole Holloway-Smithson of Nashville; brother, Vernon Ray (Phyllis) Carney of Clarksville; sisters, Mae Gamble of Springfield, Betty Dixon of Orlinda, Louise (Jackie) Brothers of Springfield, Patsy (Billy Joe) Biggs of Pleasant View, and Ruth (Ricky) Holmes of Hendersonville; and many nieces and nephews.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to the Humane Society of Sumner County, 16 Volunteer Drive, P.O. Box 2412, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
