Evelyn was born May 3, 1929, in Franklin, KY to the late James Basil and Dema Glynn Neal Hill. She is predeceased by her special sister: Virginia Elaine Hill. She begun sharing her God given gift of music at age 12, playing piano at Williams Chapel Baptist Church. After her marriage to Floyd Pope Hancock, whom she was married to for 71 years at the time of his death, she continued to play the piano and organ at Hopewell Baptist Church for decades. Evelyn played for countless weddings, funerals, school programs, and many other events in Robertson County. She was a wonderful cook, gracious hostess, and served as President of the WMU, PTA, Business and Professional Women’s Club, and the Music Club. She loved God, her animals, especially her cats, and her family dearly.

She will be missed greatly by her daughter Sandra Hancock Hutts (Joe) of Brentwood, grandchildren Mary Carmen Englert of Brentwood and William Pope Englert (Sarah) of Nashville, great grandchildren Simon Pope, Genevieve Clare, and Rainer Nation Englert.

A special thanks to those who lovingly cared for her the last several years especially Maxine, Mary, and Kisha and the special support of the medical community in Robertson County. We are so grateful for each of you.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell Baptist Church, Williams Chapel Baptist Church, Milldale Presbyterian Church, or to the Robertson County Animal Shelter to purchase food for the animals.  All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home 2201 Memorial Blvd. Springfield, TN 37172
