Elizabeth “Big Sissy” Roach, 88, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday October 18, 2020 at The Waters of Robertson in Springfield. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday October 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Chad Diehl officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Phillip Roach, Tim “Buster” Roach, Jr., Chad Truelove, J.W. Frazier, II, A.J. Roach, Jimmy Henley, Troy Henley, and Tyler Henley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Roach was born December 31, 1931 in Springfield to the late Sidney and Beatrice Scott Bilyeu. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Church of Christ. She spent her life taking care of her family and seeing that their needs were met. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Porter Roach, Sr., and by her children: Deborah Roach, Melissa Stagner, Donald Ray Roach, Frank Arnold Roach, Mark Roach, and Kenneth Roach.
Mrs. Roach is survived by her sons: Porter Roach, Jr., of Russellville, KY, Tim (Sheena) Roach, Sr., of Springfield, Allen Roach of Portland, Anthony Dewayne Roach of Sarasota, FL, and Robbie (Kasandra) Roach of White House, by her daughters: Lois (James) Henley of Springfield, Joyce Klarhn of Springfield, and Teresa Bellman of Cedar Hill, by her brothers: Charles and Joseph Bilyeu both of Springfield, by her sisters: Frankie Hunter, Tiney Hand, and Brenda Douglas all of Springfield, by 23 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.
