Elaine (Rippy) Davenport

Nancy Elaine Davenport, age 67 of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at her home. Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Pastor Russ Noss and Dr. Bill Owen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the hour of service at the church.

Elaine was born August 19, 1955 in Springfield. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She worked as an insurance agent for Fred M. Smith and Hogan and Hatcher Insurance Agencies. She truly loved her job and especially working with Sam and Zena Smith, Donnie and Leigh Anne Hogan, George Hatcher, and David Fizer. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and also spending time and celebrating special occasions with her East Robertson Class of 1973 classmates.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Rippy Sr, and a son, Trapper Davenport. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Davenport of Cross Plains; mother, Lillie Mae Lane Rippy of Portland; Sons and daughters-in-law, Dustin and Annette Fuqua of Franklin, KY , Jarred and Kristy Fuqua of Cross Plains, and Trai and Bethanie Davenport of White House; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Charles Alston of White House; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Robert and Vicki Rippy, Jr. of Cross Plains, Bruce and Beth Rippy of Cross Plains, and Brandon and Lori Rippy of Clarksville; daughter-in-law, Shawnta Woodard of Portland; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

The family request, if so desired, for memorial contributions to be made to either, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, East Robertson Elementary School, East Robertson Elementary Library, or East Robertson High School. All donations can be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.
