Effie D. Cowan, 93, of Bowling Green, KY and formerly of Adairville, KY, passed from this life on Tuesday November 26, 2024, at the Chandler Park Assisted Living Center in Bowling Green, KY. Graveside services will be conducted Friday November 29th at 1:00 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville, KY, with her son, Reverend Ken Cowan officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.
Ms. Effie was born November 3, 1931, in Adairville, KY to the late William Thomas and Lena Sircy Hardin. She was a homemaker and a founding member of Living Word Church in Adairville, KY, where she was still a member at the time of her death. Ms. Effie was a dedicated pastor’s wife for over 48 years. She loved sewing, knitting, working in her church, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Reverend William A. “Bill” Cowan, and by her siblings: Gene Hardin, Bob Hardin, Ann Hardin, Roberta Miller, and Faye Hughes. Ms. Effie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Ken and Connie Cowan of Bowling Green, KY, and by her grandchildren: Derek Cowan, Shawn Perry, and Heather Claborn.
